The name "Opoponax" is probably derived from the latin "Opoponace" for opponent. They can be viewed as opponents to the classic Commiphora myrrh. Opoponax is a precious gum resin that originates from the Horn of Africa. It has a captivating and multifaceted aroma, making it a highly valued ingredient in perfumery and other applications. Compared to classic myrrh, Opoponax is fruitier, sweeter, and less bitter. Our company offer two types of Opoponax: Hagar resin and Hadi, with Hadi being lighter, reddish, and fruitier than Hagar resin. In perfumery, Opoponax Hadi adds depth and complexity to fragrances with its warm, balsamic character, hints of sweetness, spice, and leather, and blends seamlessly with other notes. It is used in oriental, gourmand, chypre, and fougère compositions, as well as floral bouquets. Opoponax Hadi is also used in aromatherapy for relaxation and emotional balance, in incense and rituals for cultural and spiritual practices, and historically as a food flavoring.
